Back several years ago, the club I used to belong to had a club tournament on a place called Square Pond, just north of Sanford, Maine. Miserable day. In fact, it was the beginning of April, and it started snowing late morning, and by noon, it was almost whiteout conditions on the lake so the tourney was called at 1 pm. But that's not what made it memorable. What made it memorable was that I'd gotten a bunch of Berkley Frenzy crankbaits off ebay just a few days before, and I was looking to trying them out on these "springtime" bass. I got in the boat that morning, and the guy I was riding with-- I told him-- you watch-- one cast, one fish! First thing that morning, we went to a rock pile in the middle of the lake, and I broke out my trusty Berkley Frenzy crankbait. it barely hit the water, and WHAM. It hit me like a freight train! Got it up to the boat.....
and it was a TOGUE. (For those of you who don't know, that's "Mainah" for lake trout) It was a decent size togue, but it still didn't count. _________________ Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right! |

Shane, actually he's a wicked funny dude to fish with; always laughing, joking around, but when he sets the hook, he turns into this serious a$$-kickin' bassin' machine.
This photo was taken years ago and yet it could have been yesterday.
Funny you mention that because the folks at work just busted his a$$ the other day about this "expression" issue & he told me he's got it worked out. We'll see as we're heading out tomorrow on a smallie assault.

Shane, the XL Girls are on tour, but I have a feeling they'll rebound to the message board once again.
Bill, after I hooked into this morning PIG ...
I enjoyed this lunch time PIG. What a great day to be on the water.

What are spinnerbaits made of?
What are spinnerbaits made of?
Silicone skirts
and nickel blades that flirt,
that's what spinnerbaits are made of.

Who are all of you kidding?
If you could look that grumpy AND catch fish like that, you'd do it in a heartbeat.
That man is smiling on the inside. Well, a little. |
