fished a tourney Sunday with Pocketfisherman. We came in 2nd even though we had some nice pigs. Oh well $200 bucks for a day fishing is not tough to take.

Thanks Shane. Its like I live in some crazy green zone, all the local lakes are no gas motors allowed. The Bass Pellican does the trick and can go virtualy anywhere.

NICE JOB!
You guys need a bigger livewell though....poor baby wouldn't fit all the way in.
I use my kayak for small waters, that beast would have made for an excellent "Nantucket Sleigh ride". |

Kman, cool stuff all around; the bass & the boat. The Summertime largies you're catching are awesome. I know what you're saying about the "green zone." More and more bodies of water are starting to have restrictions of some sort; 4 strokes only on some. _________________

Peat your right about the livewell. I cant fit a much bigger one in that boat. That bass was 24" long and the cooler 23" I dont often catch bass like that in Tourneys and thats the only time I use the livewell. I hope it continues to be a future problem. |

Jim-- you ought to come up here. Wardens are specifically targeting bassboats. If you have a livewell and trolling motor on your boat, be prepared to show every required piece of coast guard safety equipment, and be prepared to be stopped within a mile of the boat ramp when you pull out so they can check to make sure you have no water or weed/ animal pieces in your livewell. One guy got a summons because there was a piece of crawfish in his. They'll also do a weed check at that time, and pop you if you have so much as a piece of a blade of grass on the boat.
Your wife wants to come with you and read while you fish? She damn well better have a fishing license, or she'll be summoned for fishing without one. _________________ Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right! |

Bill, I hear you. I fish one of the most regulated bodies of water. Check this out: Trailers can't even have carpeted bunks or wheel wells: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/watersupply/watershed/documents/quabbinboatsealfaq.pdf
Talked with a DCR Ranger last year when this went into effect and he told me "This is just the beginning of what's yet to come to other bodies of water." Yikes!!!!
I just blew a thermostat on the Merc and if my dealer has to water test the boat at a lake nearby and they break my seal, I'll have to make an appointment & throw out $30 to get a new boat decontamination seal.
It's crazy crazy crazy! I actually use my livewell now as storage.
Bill, this should make you smile... Mercury Marine's slogan used to be "Set The Water On Fire" and I will attest, their ad was spot-on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeGjPQZijLw
That 5yr warranty I have has been getting great use. |

I know-- it's almost like they're TRYING to shut down bass fishing! Not to mention putting a serious hurting on boating! I can't figure it out. I wonder if they realize the revenue they'll lose if that happens. _________________ Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right! |

That pig weighed a whopping 6.2 Lbs. The 2nd biggest fish ever caught during our club's tourney (only 1 Lb off). Nice job Kman! _________________ A bad day of fishing is better than anyday at work.
