Not a challenge, but the fishing ended up pretty decent in Mid-Michigan last week. Cooke Dam pond on the Au Sable river in Mid-Michigan.
5 smallies and 2 largemouths. Most were in the 1-2 lb range, but the one in the picture was at least 2 1/2. One of our campers got a 5 pounder. You could put a softball in that hogs mouth.
We tried everything, though. Crankbaits, lipless, spinner-baits, texas-rigged worms.. Nothing was hitting until I put on a wacky worm. The only thing they would bite on. From 15 to 30 feet deep, it worked well. 4 inch watermelon and red flake Stik-O from bass pro shops.
The big guy I even caught from shore right near where the original river bed comes through the pond. Always fun when they hit. |

That's one hot Oneida. Have several of those bad *** bows. _________________ www.cthuntnfish.com
